Nottingham Forest's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday ended in chaos and controversy over referee Paul Tierney's decision not to return the ball to Forest following a head injury to Ibrahima Konate.

After the game Forest's newly-appointed referee analyst, Mark Clattenburg, said he had not spoken to Tierney about the incident and it was "too early" to say whether the club would send a letter of complaint to the PGMOL.

Clattenburg will not be used to coach Forest’s players and prepare them better to avoid negative refereeing decisions.
